Meet Aji, the passionate collector behind Bagasi™! Born in the Gambia and now residing in the US, Aji’s love for fashion and accessories blossomed in her pre-teen years with her cherished collection of handbags and sunglasses. She believes a handbag isn’t just a practical litem—it’s a silent statement, a way to reveal personality through the choice of what holds our valuables.

Her journey in craftsmanship and style began with her grandmother, who has owned a shop in the Senegambia Craft Market since the 90s. Growing up, she watched her grandmother hand-make items, from clothes and jewelry to, yes, purses, using mismatched fabrics and colored threads to give each piece its own unique character. Today, Bagasi™ continues this legacy of individuality and quality, with all profits going toward the development of her grandmother’s shop, a beloved staple that still stands today.
